A Discussion On The Importance Of Community Service Assignments For Students

People need to be able to use their skills in order find the right jobs. To graduate high school, students must complete at least 15 hours of community service. It shouldn’t be hard to do this small amount of work and students should get involved. High school students must get out there and help society in order to make an impact and be a good citizen.

Students can learn valuable skills such as being punctual and on-time for service. Community service can teach you valuable lessons that you can carry with your life. It is important to give your all and not lose heart. Even though community services help people, they also teach them about one another and encourage compassion. Student volunteers are responsible for addressing real-world problems and situations. The “Council for Excellence in Government Youth”, a survey of 15- to 22-year-olds, found that they voted against the idea of community service. Ironically, 23-25-year-olds think that community service should be mandatory for students who complete their community service hours. Furthermore, community service can make a difference in a teenager’s future. You might even find a job through these opportunities. Through my community service, I learned how to help the poor and have been able to make a difference in my life. It adds maturity and experience. It shows leadership, team spirit, and excellent communication skills. It is possible to use the same experiences that were gained while working in the past. He realized, at the age of 13, that helping elderly people would help him gain knowledge and grace. He said, “I would spend every day with them if I could.” What is most remarkable about community service? The bond between people that makes it memorable.

“Community service should be done. Community Service is central to our moral core. It teaches us, through experience, about the relationship of empathy and responsibility. Community service and helping each other can help us adapt to the new world we live in. It is a great way to learn and it gives you the satisfaction of helping make the world better.

Why community service should not be required? Students are just graduating from high school. There is some debate over what to do next. Some believe that every 18-year-old should do one year of community or national service before they go to college or get a job. I disagree with this idea. Each student is unique. Each graduate will have different goals. Many people don’t want to go to community college. Most graduates don’t want to do community college at this point in their lives.

At the age of 18, you’ve already been through 13 years worth of education that tells you what your future should look like. Eight hours of school, sitting in a classroom, wearing what is expected, taking work home and repeat. You are free to pursue your dreams once you have graduated. You may want to go to college, get a job, etc. Everybody has different goals, regardless of the situation. It is unfair that someone takes an extra year of life to do something for another person.

For college, it is especially important that there should be no requirement for a year of service in the community. It is difficult enough for many high school seniors to make the decision to go to college. Some may feel too much pressure from college requirements.

It is absurd to ask for an additional year of your life to help you further your education. Graduates want to finish college and get started in their careers. You can delay them for one more year and make it less likely that you will choose to go to college.

The last and most important thing is that you shouldn’t be required to perform community service for a paying job. You are an 18-year-old considered a young adult.

It is not right to say that graduates shouldn’t pursue college educations, but there are situations where they can’t or won’t. It is absurd to require a year’s un-voluntary service to obtain a job. Young adults who don’t want to go to college should be able work and start adulthood. However, community service is not always a benefit.

Conclusion: I don’t believe community service should be required to open the next chapter of your lives. Although there are many benefits to volunteering and helping others, they should always be voluntary. It is absurd to require 18-year-olds to volunteer one year of their lives in order to become adults. Instead of limiting graduates’ choices, we should allow them to choose the direction they want.
